We Do....At Last

Posted by Unknown at 22:43:00 3 comments

What a whirlwind! It's been a little while since I blogged and the reason for this is... We are finally getting married! It's been nearly four years since he asked me, its been booked, then cancelled twice, not that I mind, life got in the way, in a good way! But last week we decided to just go for it and we took the "it's now or never" attitude...I wanted to be a Mrs already!

We are having a nice easy, early ceremony at the town hall, immediate family only, then onto some brunch, home so that the boys can chill and rest before our party in the evening, they will need time out from all the excitement of the day, especially Connor!

I don't want to jinx anything but I think we are nearly there, almost everything's booked or on order and I can't wait! It was a bit of a stress at first but now I think that only having three weeks to plan a wedding has made us just get on with it and I'm so ready to be married now, he has been my best friend for close to six years and I want to be his wife! Roll on May! I can't wait!

Here's are homemade invites, simple, personal, I love them!

Peek-a-Boo.

Connor makes me laugh everyday! He's such a little comedian, and he knows it! He really relishes people laughing at him. Lately he has been making a conscious effort at making jokes, like putting balls out of his pool up his top or walking around with his eyes closed. Another favourite is burying himself in blankets and pillows, hiding from me that peeking out! He is developing such a great sense of humour! I love it!

Eighteen Months.

When did that happen? Connor is a whole year and a half today, and all I did was blink! It's such a privilege to watch him grow and learn everyday, to see him slowly understand things more and more.

So a little update...

He has been walking since he turned one but now he runs, dances, he can walk on his tip toes and in circles purposefully to make himself dizzy. He still has his beautiful blonde curls, my haircut didn't take them away! He has bright blue eyes, an amazing smile of twelve, nearly sixteen, teeth, that he brushes very thoroughly on a daily basis, and wears a size four and a half G shoe. His favourite food is baked beans, he loves Thomas the Tank Engine and his toy trains. He knows "mummy", "daddy", "baba", "pea"(the cat), "hifive", "ta" and "hiya" amongst some other noises that resemble words we are able to translate between us. He sleeps in his own bed in his own room from seven each night till seven the next morning. He is a cheeky little bundle of energy that makes me laugh everyday of my life, even the ones when he drives me crazy!

I can't believe he is on his way to two, I miss his baby days but I love seeing him getting more and more independent, wether it's feeding himself or undressing himself, even if it does break my heart a little more each time he does something solo I am proud that I had a part in teaching him that seemingly simple skill.

I just love him.

Getting Warmer.

Posted by Unknown at 10:00:00 0 comments

I love winter, it's my favourite time of the year, mainly because it holds my favourite holiday, Christmas! However after all the hype of Christmas and New Year is over I really look forward to a bit of sunshine, and now it's spring and starting to get warmer it's time to break free from the cabin fever for me and the children, I love getting them out of the house even if it's just a spin in the pram for some fresh air!

Connor loves the park now he can walk and it's nice to see him happy, running and playing knowing he is safe within the boundaries of the playground, it really does help with his development too, he's learning to climb and run and jump and all this activity uses a lot of energy, it wears my little lad right out in time to go home, meaning mummy can get things done at home while he sleeps!

Logan loves to go out in the pram too, he's all cosy and warm and snug and the slow, rhythmic pushing of the pram sends him into a lovely sleep, even when he is in the throws of a screaming match! It's like magic! I can't wait till it's warm enough for them to go out in just there shorts and T-shirts! Here's to plenty more days out, roll on the summer!

An Hour Ahead.

Posted by Unknown at 12:30:00 0 comments

The clocks went forward, making it lighter in the evenings! If you have read my other post, Attatchment Issues? you will know that Connor has been sleeping in his own room like a trooper but it's amazing the difference one hour can make to his bedtime routine! It's only been one night but thus far it's outgoing well, we stuck to his bath and bed times as usual but where Connor would normally be asleep by seven pm his bedroom being so light meant that he didn't understand that it was time to sleep. Giggles and chatter were heard across the baby monitor till gone eight o'clock then the tears started as he had had enough of playing in his room alone! We ended up hanging a dressing gown in his window to block out some light! I'll give him his due, once it was a little darker and daddy put him to bed he slept through till eight this morning as oppose to the normal six thirty, so there are pluses but when I'm up that early with Logan anyway it just puts all of our day out of whack! I think an investment into a blackout blind wont be far away in order to remove the dressing gown and stop his room looking like some kind of squat!

See how it's affected other routines on Babyhuddle.
