I worried about Connor being able to share things with Logan, knowing he wouldn't understand. But seeing him now, all he wants todo is look after "Logie" his little "baba" makes me so proud and happy that we decided to have the boys so close!

Babies Day Out.

Posted by Unknown at 23:30:00 4 comments

When the sun comes out I love getting the boys out in the fresh air. Connor loves going to any park and we have visited a couple this week just to mix it up a bit. As I don't drive we take busses or walk and it becomes a proper adventure. Connor likes to sit next to the window on a grown up seat now so he can see everything that's going on outside.

It's the best thing ever watching him running and playing and wearing himself out! And does he sleep after our days out in the sunshine? You can bet your bottom dollar!

The Night...

Posted by Unknown at 10:00:00 0 comments

After we had had our first meal as a married couple, surrounded by all our family we headed home, it was to be a long day and I new if Connor was going to make it through the night and enjoy it he would have to have a rest. We got home, changed and chilled a while whilst Connor played then I took him up to bed, he slept like a dream, I think all the excitement of the morning had worn him out, this gave us time to finish a few last minute details and go and dress the room while he slept and uncles and aunties relaxed downstairs. When we were done we all got dressed, i had a few retouches on my hair and makeup by my maid, and we were ready to celebrate all over again.

We did it all ourselves, with the help of a few family and friends, and it was perfect. We didn't really want any proper traditions, first dances, speeches and the like, but they happened anyway, the whole night just seemed to flow into one amazing memory! When we danced it felt like we were the only people in the room, and dancing my daddy daughter dance was so special, we had an amazing night! It sounds silly but it really was the best day of my life and it went way too fast, I would do it again in a heartbeat! We didn't need thousands of pounds and months of planning, all we needed was us, our family and friends and most importantly our boys, that's what made it so special! And now it's done, I am married to my best friend, the father of my children and the love of my life.

The Morning...

Posted by Unknown at 13:05:00 0 comments

11/05/2013

We had booked the wedding for 9:45 am, obviously forgetting that we wouldn't be getting ready alone that morning but we got there me in my dress and my amazing boys in their suits.

My mum took Connor and Logan in her car to meet us at the town hall, we had a Daimler to go in and that time spent in the back of that car, just me and him, was the most exciting time of my life... We hardly spoke, just held hands all the way there and by the time we arrived my face hurt from smiling but I couldn't stop.

It rained so after a few quick snaps we got inside, where everyone but myself, my bridesmaid and my dad headed off up the stairs into the room we were to be married in. It felt like a lifetime waiting to be allowed up and my nerves were steadily growing but finally I was called to confirm some details and then it was time, time to get married.

I fooled my "maid" through the small corridor, linked arm in arm with my dad, into a room where all eyes were on me, I felt so special and it was so perfect to have all the people that mean the most to us witness us take our vows and promise to love each other forever, and our boys were extremely well behaved, the only noise that came from them was a train running on the metal of one of the seats, Connor was playing trains in between being silenced by pieces of chocolate. We exchanged rings signed the register and headed for breakfast as Man and Wife!

The Cake.

Posted by Unknown at 18:00:00 0 comments

I love baking and I thought it would amazing if I could make my own wedding cake, don't be fooled I am not experienced or in any way a kitchen goddess but I enjoy it and wanted to give making my very own, one of a kind wedding cake, a go. I had a bit of trouble with red crumbs showing through the icing as I had to cut the top layer to size but it looked authentic, homemade and on the whole not too bad.

It is red velvet cake with a cream cheese frosting....yummy!

The build! I had to bake each layer one at a time so I knew they would be evenly cooked, then waited till they were all cooled before stacking them, using doweling and a card base between each tier to help keep it steady.

Sweet Tree.

Posted by Unknown at 18:00:00 0 comments

We wanted to do as much as the wedding stuff as we could ourselves, I love crafting and I think it makes it so much more personal... A bit different and special. We made our own sweet trees as centre pieces for the tables and I love them, we made them together and that made it even more special!

Four Weeks.

Posted by Unknown at 18:00:00 0 comments

We decided not to tell anyone we were getting married until it was booked.

We just wanted to be married, without all the fuss and stress that's associated with a big, expensive wedding.

We had four weeks to organise the whole thing, we booked the town hall, early morning for just family, we were then to go onto Frankie and Benny's for breakfast...... To home get the boys to sleep sothatthey would berating to go for our evening party were all our friends could join in the celebrations.

Four weeks, and we did it, it was busy at times but that just added to the excitement of it all... It was perfect!

Nerves...

Posted by Unknown at 20:20:00 2 comments

One week to go, I can't believe how nervous I am it is definitely an emotion I wasn't expecting to feel, don't get me wrong, I am more excited than I have ever been to finally be marrying my best friend and the nerves aren't even anything to do with if its going to rain or how well the day goes, what will be will be on that front, it is purely the thought of getting up and saying my vows... Two lines of repetition and I am bricking it!

We decided to have just immediate family at our ceremony, we want it to be intimate and special and we don't feel the need to have the world and his wife there to witness us committing ourselves to each other for ever but as well as that neither of us have ever really been ones for fuss, we can feel uncomfortable being the centre of attention in front of more than a few people and so to watch us take our vows will be the people that mean the most to us.... The reception is for everyone, to see us on our most special of days but the ceremony, that's just for us.

I can't wait!
